Who's the Big Sis?

One night last week, Rob and I were surprised to find Ava looking so old, standing up by herself at the kitchen sink! Even more funny was that Zoie was in the baby toy. This was a complete role reversal...I couldn't help but grab the camera to capture the moment!

The last couple of weeks really have been big for Ava! She started to crawl the "regular way", got her first tooth (and is working on her second), and can pull herself up to stand next to anything! She loves to get in our cupboards, she claps and waves and is just growing up too fast!

Halloween is in the air!

I love Halloween! I think I must get it from my mom, she goes all out decorating and it happens to be her Birthday! I have had a lot of fun crafting with my mom and some friends lately. I took some pictures of some of the fun things we have done. Lot's of glitter... it is becoming an obsession! Our silhouettes (at the top of our blog) are new for Halloween too! It has been a lot of fun and I think Zoie loves it too!

Pumpkin Patch

So, while I am at it I may as well keep adding. We went to the pumpkin patch last week with Zoie's preschool. Mimi came along which was such a big help, couldn't have survived without her! We all had such a great time. We saw the pig race, road the train, took the tractor to choose our pumpkins, ate yummy treats, and slid down the slides...now who wouldn't love that? We love going to get us in the Halloween mode!

Family Picture Time!

So, this was the perfect picture to get me back in the blogging spirit! My mom took family pictures for us tonight and captured this great image! I love this picture because Ava adores her big sis Zoie and I think the picture totally says it all. Everything Zoie does, Ava loves! No, seriously everything!

Michael Scofield Ain't Got Nothin' on Me

For most men, there comes a time in your life when your hair starts thinning beyond repair and it's time to face the truth; for me that time had arrived. I had been wanting to shave my head for about the past year. Every once in awhile, I would test Lindsey to see what she thought about me shaving it all off. And every time she would say, "No, you still have a lot of hair."

The perfect opportunity finally arrived in mid-June. We were at the Baddley's house and it was late; late enough that reason had already left for the night. So in an attempt to do something fun, I suggested that they shave my head. I was half-joking, trying again to test Lindsey. But this time she said yes, and surprised me by throwing the ball back into my court. Up until now, I had just said that I wanted to shave my head, but now it was serious and I was hesitating. It took much persuasion from Steve, Sara, Jeff and Kate to convince me that it would look good - and that I would look like Michael Scofield. While they were being very kind, and in all fairness to Michael Scofield, I look nothing like him - more like Donny Osmond with a shaved head.

This is a decision that I haven't regretted. I really like my new "hair-style". It took a few days for me to grow a liking to it - it took Lindsey and the girls a few weeks, but they came around. So much thanks to Steve, Sara, Jeff and Kate for making me a little bit rock 'n roll.

Camp Farwest

We had such a great time with families from our ward. We celebrated Sara Baddley's 30th Birthday...they planned the whole thing and brought their boat. It was so nice. Zoie loved being with her friends. She also loved hanging out in the tent. I had to keep reminding her "go play!" Rob and the other husbands were so macho and swam across the lake and back. Rob hurt his leg on a rock and barely made it back. It was cute to see all the kids all excited when the daddy's got back! The ladies went out and Sara drove the boat while we went wakeboarding. Everyone got up and we had so much fun together! Way to go girls! There were a lot of kids and they all had a blast together- swimming, digging in the dirt, eating, exploring, and even boating! Rob threw Zoie on the tube (against her will) with Baysia and Mariah. She didn't like it at first but then enjoyed it and felt like one of the big kids! On our way home...Rob was offered his new job which was so exciting and such a relief. This really was a great little get away!

Ava's First Solids!

So all in all, Ava loved her first rice cereal experience! She was too cute. She even managed to eat it all and probably would have eaten more if I had made more. Zoie loved helping her too!

Yum, Yum, Yum!
